Drug trafficking has gotten creative in recent years — from lining the bottom of a car, stuffing drugs up the exhaust pipe, to even filling the gas tank — but it comes as a surprise when a drug transport involves a six-year-old girl.
A U.S. Border Patrol agent pulled a car over on Interstate 5 on the evening of July 21. After agreeing to a search, the mother was soon discovered, by a police K-9, to be carrying 28.8 pounds of methamphetamine — with her young child in the vehicle.
28 bundles of meth were found inside the car’s gas tank and the mother was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Her young daughter was handed over to local child protective services.
The vehicle was seized by the U.S. Border Patrol.
