A federal judge ruled Monday that the forced closures of many “non-essential” businesses under the leadership of Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf were unconstitutional.
“We’re aware of the ruling and are reviewing the decision,” a spokesperson for Governor Wolf said in a statement, according to local reports.
In his written opinion, U.S. District Judge William Stickman IV noted, “The liberties protected by the Constitution are not fair-weather freedoms — in place when times are good but able to be cast aside in times of trouble.”
