Dubai: An expatriate man has been arrested by Riyadh Police on charges of human trafficking, Saudi media reported on Tuesday.
The suspect is charged with forcing women and children into beggary on the streets of Riyadh.
The children and elderly women begging on the streets of Riyadh are often forced to do so, and are victims of human trafficking. The suspect was referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigations and legal action.
Riyadh Police highlighted the keenness of the Ministry of Interior to crackdown on all forms of human trafficking and apply all laws firmly against anyone who violates them. Saudi authorities underlined their keenness to ensure the safety and security of the kingdom, its citizens and expatriate residents.
