LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — The U.S. Marshals Service led a 90-day operation to reduce violent gang crime, which ended on Oct. 1 and resulted in 127 arrests, including 44 gang members, according to a press release from the agency.
Also during the investigation, which was called”Operation Star Struck,” law enforcement officers seized 52 firearms, 7.74 kg of narcotics that included marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin. Officials also seized more than $35,000 in currency.
The operation was conducted by the U.S. Marshals Service Eastern Arkansas Fugitive Task Force, along with the Little Rock and North Little Rock Police Department’s, Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office, Conway Police Department, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, Jonesboro Police Department, Arkansas Department of Corrections, Benton Police Department, Saline County Sheriff’s Office, Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, US Attorney’s Office, Arkansas State Police and Arkansas National Guard Counter Drug Unit.
